The Yelloowart x Seabird Pottery collection is a celebration of collaboration, creativity, and the beauty of handmade work. Each piece begins on the wheel, thoughtfully thrown and glazed by Rae Walton of Seabird Pottery, then finished with hand-carved or hand-painted illustrations by Tina Booth of Yelloow Art & Design. Together, their styles merge into functional pieces that are meant to be used, loved, and lived with.

 

Pottery has been such a journey for Rae. It has been grounding and healing, as the act of sitting at the potter’s wheel and shaping clay with her hands creates a soothing mind-body connection. The process is both humbling, with its endless trial and error, and thrilling when pieces make it through the many steps to completion. It also fosters a sense of connection and encouragement through the community of artists and patrons drawn to the craft.

 

Rae is passionate about creating functional art that becomes part of everyday life. Each piece is unique and entirely handmade. This collection is meant to inspire and cultivate joy, reflecting the marvelous natural world that surrounds us and the shared appreciation both artists have for Alaska’s landscapes, wildlife, and quiet moments.

Tina creates playful, nature-inspired illustrations rooted in life in Alaska. Her work blends organic forms, soft color palettes, and a sense of curiosity, resulting in pieces that feel both lighthearted and deeply connected to the natural world. Whether on paper, stickers, or ceramics, her art is designed to bring small moments of joy into everyday life.
